28.2. What are the solutions for pore defects?

In order to better address the gas cavity defects in spiral steel pipe welding, it is necessary to treat the weld surface based on the principles of pore formation that are already understood. This treatment can effectively eliminate the influence of impurities such as moisture and rust on bubble formation. From the perspective of welding, certain adjustments to the welding parameters are also required, so that the welding current and welding speed can meet the welding requirements, thereby reducing the likelihood of gas cavity defects. Moreover, a thorough welding inspection must be conducted throughout the entire process. From the moment the raw materials arrive, proper storage and management should be implemented. According to the characteristics of the welding steel plates, appropriate storage methods should be adopted to ensure that the steel plates are stored in a good environment, thus avoiding rust and other issues. The processed steel plates must also undergo careful inspection, especially at the welded joints, which require more in-depth scrutiny. Through inspection, potential problems can be identified, allowing for timely cleaning of issues and enhancing the cleanliness of the welding areas, effectively preventing the occurrence of bubble defects.
